Charlie Fairbanks
Creative Technologist
The proud older brother of Harrison Fairbanks, the inspiration behind the founding of Islands of Brilliance, Charlie’s special ed knowledge is primarily lived experience rather than higher education. A graduate of UW-Madison, Charlie’s background includes a mix of creativity, STEM, and world languages, with a long journey before landing at IOB’s shores in the midst of the 2020 pandemic. Over the years, Charlie has developed skills in various creative programs and mediums, with a primary focus on digital painting and illustration. His broad range of interests fuels his eccentric sense of humor that often expresses itself through his wacky drawings and wild storytelling.
Outside of IOB, you'll find Charlie rock climbing, playing board games, exploring painting, and arguing about the untapped resource that is edible insects. You may find a paper trail of napkin drawings, whiteboard doodles, and other little treasures from along the way.
