What is Quest?

Quest is designed for participants who have a creative idea they care about and want the support to see it through.

Participants work on individual passion projects while learning alongside peers. Mentors provide guidance and feedback, but students maintain ownership of their work and learning decisions.

Quest works especially well for students who want to go deep on one idea and benefit from structure, accountability, and community.

FAQs

  • Do participants need to come with a project idea?

Yes. Quest works best when participants have a creative idea or area of interest they want to explore deeply. Mentors help students refine and shape their ideas during the program.

  • How independent is Quest?

Quest is designed for participants who are ready to take ownership of their learning. Support is provided in a small group setting, but students are expected to work independently and make decisions about their projects.

  • Is work outside of session time required?

Outside work is encouraged but not required. Many participants choose to continue working on their projects between sessions, especially as ideas develop.

  • What types of projects are appropriate for Quest?

Projects vary based on participant interests and may include illustration, design, animation, 3D modeling, storytelling, or other creative digital work.

  • Is Quest a good fit for first-time Digital Academy participants?

Quest can be a great fit for motivated first-time participants who are ready for independent, project-based learning.

  • Is financial aid available?

Islands of Brilliance is an approved vendor for CLTS/Waiver and IRIS in Wisconsin. If you do not qualify for Medicaid funding, there are occasionally limited scholarships available through our Brilliant Fund. Contact us to discuss.
